Amman Mineral to Hold Two National and International Junior Tennis Tournaments to Produce Young Talented Indonesian Tennis Athletes

Jakarta, October 23, 2019 - The support of Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara ("Amman Mineral") to develop tennis sports and Indonesian junior tennis athletes is again demonstrated by holding the 'Amman Mineral International Junior Championship 2019' and 'Amman Mineral Detec Junior Open 2019' to be held simultaneously on 23-27 October 2019 at the Elite Club Epicentrum tennis courts, Jakarta. These national and international scale championship events are part of a calendar of activities of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Tennis Association (PP PELTI). Previously Amman Mineral was also the main sponsor of the national tennis championships held in Yogyakarta and Padang.

By holding several national and international tennis championships, we hope to explore the potential of junior athletes by providing ample opportunities for them to compete in national and international events, "explained Rachmat Makkasau, President Director of Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara.

Rachmat further explained, "With the participation of 100 junior tennis players from 16 countries in the 2019 Amman Mineral International Junior Championship, we hope that the Indonesian junior tennis athletes can be motivated to compete and make world-class achievements. This is our duty together to ensure that more and more junior players will be able to make achievements at the national and international levels. However, it certainly takes time and a long process before they get to that stage."

100 participants aged between 13 and 18 years from 16 countries will take part in the 'Amman Mineral International Junior Championship 2019' and compete in singles and doubles for men and women. Along with the championship, the "Amman Mineral Detec Junior Open 2019" with male and female athlete participants aged 10, 12, 14, and 16 years will also be held only for the singles and doubles categories.
