Hundreds of Amman Mineral Employees, Family Members and Community Members Hold Beach Clean-Up in Locations around Mine

Environment is everything existing around humans that affects directly and indirectly human life and humans crave a healthy, clean and green environment

Sekongkang – West Sumbawa, November 17, 2018 - Hundreds of employees of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara ("Amman Mineral") and the Business Partners alliance and their families and community members held the Beach Clean-Up movement around the Batu Hijau mine, Sekongkang, West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara. The activity held in the form of a fun walk began with planting trees, collecting plastic waste from Gate 41 Alfa along the tropical beach route, constitutes a series of the 2nd Anniversary of Amman Mineral which is the national pride and the company of choice for every stakeholder.

Anita Avianty, Head of Corporate Communications of Amman Mineral, said, "Through this Beach Clean-Up activity we can give all stakeholders understanding and knowledge about the importance of land, beach and sea environment cleanliness as part of human life. Environmental protection will be very effective if everyone starts from their own family and community.

She further said that the lessons learned from this activity were expected to be applied by the community in their daily lives. "Only through the community’s awareness and participation can we ensure that the environment around us can be maintained to bring benefits to us."

Some youth groups, high school and vocational school students around the Batu Hijau mine participated in this activity. In this activity they could learn how to organize themselves to do various environmental protection activities by creating a healthy place to live and work.

A series of activities were held to commemorate the 2nd Anniversary of Amman Mineral, starting with cutting the “nasi tumpeng” and a collective prayer at the Batu Hijau Mine and Jakarta, Blood Donation activities, Amman Mineral Goes to Campus, Tree Planting Movement, Fun Walk, Beach Clean-Up, Photo Competition, and other activities.
